Kiwanis International Sponsored Youth Programs - Testimonial

Received from the daughter of one of our members.

I have been in the Kiwanis Family almost my entire life, in the beginning I would go to the Bloomington Kiwanis meetings with my dad on Monday afternoons inspired by the people of this club I myself became a member. First I was a Builders Club member at Holy Trinity Junior High, then at Central Catholic High School I was a Key Club member and finally I am currently serving on the Circle K executive board at St. Ambrose University. Through all the Kiwanis groups I have learned how to serve, the rewards of serving others, and made lifetime friendships.

In grade school, Builders Club gave me the roots and a good foundation for how to serve others and began my quest for the easiest way to serve the greatest number people. Then in High School Key Club gave me the opportunity to organize service projects, learn how to be a leader, and understand how to work with others. Then as I ventured into the next phase of my life and schooling I wanted the Kiwanis Family to continue with me so I joined Circle K. Circle K made my transition from high school to college easier because it gave me familiar surrounds. I met people with the same values, the same desire to serve, and these people soon became my closest friends

I am currently the Treasurer for St. Ambrose Circle K and this has given me more responsibility and again has taught me how to be a leader. Overall all the Kiwanis experiences have given me so many opportunities that I otherwise would not have had, they have taught be to be a leader, they have helped me form relationships that will last a lifetime, and they have helped me to become who I am today. I am proud to say that I am part of the Kiwanis Family.
