Bloomington Kiwanians thank all the folk's who supported us with purchases of flowers this weekend at the Mother's Day Flower Sale. Without you, our customers, we could not be sending deserving kids to Camp Limberlost. We also thank the many Kiwanis (family and friends) volunteers for a long week end of work at the sale. Andrea Raycraft, Bloomington Kiwanis Club Secretary and Kiwanis II District Executive Director has been nominated for a Women of Distinction Award.
The 23rd Annual YWCA McLean County Women of Distinction Awards Banquet will be 6:30 p.m. May 24 at Illinois State University’s Bone Student Center, Normal.
Bloomington Kiwanis is 120 members strong. A wide variety of employers and occupations are represented. The club meets every Monday at noon at the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel, 10 Brickyard Drive, Bloomington, Illinois. Meetings consist of lunch, club announcements, and a speaker who presents a topic of local or national interest. Meetings adjourn no later than 1:00 p.m. Bloomington Kiwanis offers opportunities for community service, fellowship, team building, networking and leadership. Guests and potential members are always welcome!
Each summer, Bloomington Kiwanis sends approximately 100 children who have been identified as children that would benefit to from a camping experience, to Camp Limberlost at Lake Bloomington. Camp Limberlost is our signature service project and is supported by fundraisers throughout the year including Pancake Days, Peanut Days, cheese sales, golf outings and individual donations.
